March 31, 1907, Philadelphia - July 19, 1990, Burbank - American vaudeville, film (silent and sound) and television actor. Born into a family of vaudeville performers. Father - Joseph Quillan (1884-1952), a native of Glasgow (Scotland), mother - Sarah Owen, four brothers and sisters, including - John (1906-1985; actor, who starred in 14 films in 1928-1937) and Mary (1909-1998; actress who starred in 10 films in 1928-1935). For the first time, Eddie appeared on stage with his family at the age of seven. In the early 1920s, the teenager was spotted by eccentric filmmaker Mac Sennett and invited for interviews and screen tests, as a result of which the 15-year-old Quillan signed a contract with the Sennett Film Studio in 1922. For the first time on the screen, the young actor appeared in 1926 in the short silent film A Love Sundae. His debut turned out to be successful, and Quillan continued to act in films, and from 1958 in television films and television series, for 61 years, without any noticeable interruption. During this time, he appeared in 215 tapes, including 38 short films and 19 uncredited. From the late 1920s he worked for the French film studio Pathe.
Eddie Quillan has never been married. He died on July 19, 1990 in Burbank, California from cancer. Buried at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills, Los Angeles.
