August 14, 1899 - July 6, 1982 - English film director, screenwriter and film editor. Best known for being the wife and collaborator of Sir Alfred Hitchcock, whom she met when they worked together at the famous Paramount Famous Players-Lasky Studios in London in the early 1920s. A talented editor Alma has worked on British films with directors such as Berthold Wiertel and Maurice Elva, although she spent most of her time working with her husband. Cinema was the passion of the wife.
Alma converted to Catholicism from Protestantism, and was only one day younger than her husband. Alma and Alfred were married on 2 December 1926 at the Brompton Oratory in London; their daughter Patricia Hitchcock was born on July 7, 1928.
Alma Reville died of natural causes at the age of 82, two years after Hitchcock's death. She suffered from breast cancer for several years before her death but fully recovered from the disease. Buried in Los Angeles, California.
