Tessa Ferrer is the youngest daughter of singer Debbie Boone and the granddaughter of Rosemary Clooney, Jose Ferrer and Pat Boone. In turn, she is the niece of actors George Clooney, Raphael and Miguel Ferrerov.
Ferrer starred in several short and independent films, and in the summer of 2012, without having any significant roles on television, she received a minor role as an intern Leah Murphy in Shonda Rhimes's Grey's Anatomy. Ferrer was one of five new interns in season 9 of the series, while others were played by Tina Majorino, Camilla Luddington, Guy Charles and Jerrica Hinton. After appearing in almost every episode of the season, Ferrer, along with three other cast members, was promoted to a regular cast starting in season ten. She was fired after the tenth season, along with Guy Charles.
