Born on August 27, 1909 in Vinnitsa, Podolsk province.
In 1930 he graduated from the law faculty of the Kiev Institute of National Economy. 1941-45 - war correspondent.
He wrote comedies ("Summer Day" (1950), "In the Lilac Garden" (1954), "Love, Director and Apartment" (1957), "A Day at a Restaurant" (1965)), vaudeville, essays, humorous stories, poems.
The author of the libretto for the works of D.D. Kabalevsky's opera "On Fire" (1943), operetta "Spring sings" (1957), poems of many songs.
He passed away on November 15, 1990. He was buried at the Kuntsevsky cemetery in Moscow, plot number 10.
