Born May 19, 1981 - Canadian mixed rules (MMA) fighter, former UFC welterweight champion. Saint-Pierre is widely recognized as one of the best MMA fighters in the world: the largest MMA publications unanimously recognize him as the best welterweight and among the best fighters regardless of weight category (pound-for-pound). In 2008 and 2009, Saint-Pierre was named the best athlete of the year in Canada, and was named the best fighter of the year by the Wrestling Observer magazine in 2009.
