Born 20 May 1973, Nottingham, UK - British screenwriter, director, producer.
Watkins is the director and scriptwriter for the British horror film Lake Paradise (2008), which stars such movie stars as Michael Fassbender and Kelly Reilly. This film won the 2009 Imperia Award for Best Horror Film, the Sitges Fantasy Festival Jury Award and the Fantasporto Award for Best Director. In 2008, he was also nominated for the Douglas Hitchcock Award from the British Independent Film Awards 2008.
In 2012, the next film directed by James Watkins, The Woman in Black, with Daniel Radcliffe in the title role, will be released. This film is the most expensive horror film made in the UK to date.
