He holds a BA in Marketing from the University of Michigan and a graduate of Columbia University majoring in finance.
He made his film debut as a producer of the film "Jeffrey" (1995). In addition to producing films, Stern also acts as a director, so in 1999 his first film "Fury" was released .
In 2002, Stern founded Endgame Entertainment, an independent film production and funding company.
Produced such films as "Beauty in English" (2004), "Harold and Kumar Go away" (2004), "Proof" (2004), "Queen of the River" (2005), "Beowulf and Grendel" (2005), "The Gun Baron" (2005), "Witness at the Wedding" (2005), "Alibi" (2006), "Lost" (2006), "I Am Not There" (2007), "Easy Behavior" (2008), Bloom Brothers (2008), Feelings Education (2008), Good Old Orgy (2011) and others.
In 2003 he won the Tony Award for the theatrical production of Hairspray.
