Born April 30, 1963, Truro, Cornwall, England, UK - British director, producer, screenwriter and cameraman.
Marsh received a scholarship from Oxford University and graduated with a degree in English.
He began his directing career with several documentaries for the BBC. His first documentary was Troubleman - The Last Years of Marvin Gaye, followed in 1990 by another documentary, The Animator of Prague.
His film The King, starring Gael Garcia Bernal, was screened at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival as part of the Unusual Regard program.
In 2008, the documentary Man on the Rope was released about Philippe Petit walking on a rope between the towers of the World Trade Center. The film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, BAFTA and many other awards. His 2011 documentary Project Nim was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Documentary.
In 2009 he directed part of the film Red Riding for Channel 4.
In 2014, a film about Stephen Hawking's life, Stephen Hawking's Universe, was released, starring Eddie Redmayne. The film has received numerous awards, including an Academy Award nomination.
