Born December 13, 1953, Ramat Gan, Israel - Israeli actor, film director, screenwriter and producer.
In 1965, Avi emigrated with his family to the United States of America. After graduating from high school at sixteen, Nesher began studying international relations at Columbia University. In 1971 he returned to Israel and was called up to serve in Sayeret Matkal (an elite division of the Israel Defense Forces).
In 1984, Avi made the film Anger and Triumph, after watching this picture, Dino De Laurentiis invited Nesher to make films in the USA.
