Born October 21, 1941, Tiberias, Palestine (Israel) - Israeli producer and actor.
As a child, he worked as a projectionist at the Orot cinema, which was owned by his father. He served in the army in the Golani Brigade and was demobilized with the rank of Segen.
After completing military service in 1964, he began working with his cousin, director Menachem Golan. Together they founded the Sirtei Noach production company, in honor of Golan's father. Globus worked as a producer and distributor for the company, and Golan as a director and producer. In the sixties and seventies, they released dozens of films.
In 1978 Golan and Globus moved to Hollywood and bought the Cannon Group production company for about $ 500,000. By the mid-1980s, Cannon was producing an average of 40 films a year and became the largest independent filmmaker in the United States and the sixth largest in the world.
With the success of Cannon, Golan and Globus have expanded their activities into additional areas. Cannon has acquired approximately 1,600 cinemas in Europe and the United States. Kannon has grown into one of the world's largest film companies.
In 1993, after making over 200 films, Yoram Globus returned to Israel. Since the early nineties, he has been chairman of the Israeli Film Association.
Yoram Globus continues to be a producer in Israel, managing the Globus group of companies, which owns, in particular, the largest cinema in Israel (Neve Ilan), a film and TV series production company, and much more.
In 1999, Yoram Globus received the Ophir Lifetime Achievement Award from the Israeli Film and Television Academy.
Globus is known as a supporter of the Beitar Jerusalem football team.
