Tom Vlashikha - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Actor.
Born June 20, 1973, Dona, Saxony, GDR - German theater, television and film actor.
When the Berlin Wall fell, the future actor was only 17. Tom became one of the first students sent on an exchange to New York. There, he played in amateur theater for a year and diligently studied English - hence his perfect pronunciation with an almost elusive German accent. Then he returned to his homeland, graduated from the Higher School of Music and Theater in Leipzig and the Royal Conservatory in Liege, Belgium. During his studies, teachers several times advised him to take a creative pseudonym. Vlashikha is a surname of Czech origin, it is not easy for Germans to pronounce it. He refused: “The time will come, and my name will be remembered.” Gruvemuvestart A graduate of two prestigious universities at once played for many years in theaters in Dresden, Berlin, Zurich and Frankfurt. He starred in popular German television series (however, he invariably only got on supporting roles), tried to break into Hollywood. If you carefully study his filmography, it turns out that not a single major international project filmed in Germany could do without Vlashikha's participation. His name appears in the credits of Steven Spielberg's Munich, the Enemy at the Gates by Jean-Jacques Annaud and Anonymous by Roland Emmerich. He also played in "Operation Valkyrie" with Tom Cruise, but the role was so tiny that it was completely cut out during editing. In the mini-series "The Abyss" he played the Russian mechanic Arkady and speaks Russian. The magical velvet voice is hereditary. The actor's uncle is the famous opera baritone Ekkehard Vlasikha, the star of the Bayreuth Festival and one of the best performers of the villainous parts in Wagner's operas in Germany. For Tom himself, the voice also remained one of the main sources of income for a long time: he dubbed Hollywood films for German distribution, dubbed commercials and recorded audiobooks. Before being approved for the role in Game of Thrones, Vlashikha did not know anything about the novels of George R.R. Martin (he is not a fan of the fantasy genre at all) and began reading them already in the process of working on the series. In 2011, he left the set of the second season in full confidence that he would never return to it: his hero in the plot of the saga no longer appears in the same guise. But the tremendous success of the audience did its job. The creators of Game of Thrones changed the original text specifically so that the public could see their favorite again. In the four years that have passed since filming in the second season, he managed to star in the German rom-com "Fresh Squeezed" (Frisch gepresst), in several episodes of the legendary TV series "Crime Scene" (Tatort) and in the drama "Race" with Daniel Bruhl and Chris Hemsworth. In addition, two seasons of the series Crossing Lines have already been released, with Vlashikha playing one of the main roles. All this time, journalists tried to find out at least something about his personal life, but failed: the actor refuses to talk about his girls in an interview. Otherwise, he lives in plain sight. A cozy attic in Berlin's Kreuzberg, a public transport pass, grocery shopping in a regular supermarket chain - even the most dedicated fans of the saga don't often recognize him without a red wig. "For some reason, many people think that my social circle now consists exclusively of movie stars. This is not so. Yes, I finally came to success, and in the popular series I got one of the most unusual characters. But this is not a reason to lose touch with reality.
