Born September 4, 1980, Aachen, FRG (Germany) - German violin virtuoso, actor, composer and producer.

He adopted his mother's maiden name as a pseudonym, as "it is more sonorous and easier to pronounce." When David was 4 years old, his father bought a violin for his older brother. David developed an interest in music and soon learned to play. A year later, he entered the competition and won his first prize. At the age of 7, he studied violin at the Lubeck Conservatory under Professor Zakhar Bronn. At the age of nine he made his debut at the Kissinger Sommer festival. At the age of 12, he began working with Polish-born British violinist Ida Handel, often traveling to London and other European cities to meet her. At the age of 17, he was admitted to the Royal College of Music in London, which he left at the end of the first semester.

In 1999, David moved to New York to study at the Juilliard School, and in 2003 won the school's competition for composers with a fugue written in the style of Johann Sebastian Bach. At the Juilliard School, he was one of the first to study under Yitzhak Perlman. While studying at the Juilliard School, Garrett moonlighted as a model. In 2004 he received his diploma.

With the release of Encore in 2008, Garrett aims to spark the interest of young people in classical music. The album includes his own arrangements and compositions of musical fragments and melodies that accompanied him through life. Together with his musical group, consisting of "keys", guitar and percussion, he gives concerts in which, along with classical sonatas accompanied by a grand piano, arrangements and compositions, rock songs and musical themes from films are performed.

In the fall of 2007, the luxury fountain pen company Montegrappa chose Garrett as the face of the new Tributo ad Antonio Stradivari collection. The presentation of the new line took place in several cities, including Rome, New York, Hong Kong, Berlin and London. On this occasion, Garrett was invited to play the Stradivarius violin from the Gli Archi di Palazzo Comunale collection.

David Garrett entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 2008 for performing "Flight of the Bumblebee" in 1 minute 6.52 seconds on the set of Guinness World Records: Die Gro?ten Weltrekorde in Germany on December 20, 2008.

David Garrett also participated in the Royal Variety Performance on December 5, 2011, presenting his cover version of Smells Like Teen Spirit (by Nirvana's group). In 2010, he joined the jury for the 9th Annual Independent Music Awards to help the career of independent musicians.

On 19 May 2012, at the UEFA Champions League Final, David Garrett performed with German opera singer Jonas Kaufmann. With a full stadium, they sang a cover of the UEFA Champions League anthem.

Album Music was released on July 30, 2013, it includes rock and pop compositions performed by Garrett on the violin in a symphonic or baroque manner.

The album Caprice was released on April 14, 2014, featuring Andrea Bocelli, Steve Morse and Nicole Scherzinger.

He has written covers of the songs "Viva La Vida", "Smooth Criminal", "Whole Lotta Bond" and many others.
