Born September 9, 1952, Sunderland, England - British musician, composer and record producer.
As a child, he dreamed of becoming a professional football player, but due to a knee injury he had to give up this dream. During treatment, David got his hands on a guitar, and in a fairly short time he mastered the technique of playing it.
After leaving school, David founded the Longdancer group. The group had little commercial success, and disbanded in 1977 after David met Annie Lennox.
Together with Peet Coombes and Annie Lennox, David formed The Catch. After a while, the group was renamed The Tourists. The Tourists disbanded in 1980 after recording several albums, and in the same year David Stewart and Annie Lennox formed the Eurythmics.
