Born in Rome on September 25, 1980. He first got on the set when he was 13 years old. Filmmakers Franco Castellano and Giuseppe Moccia gave Elio the lead role in the comedy Ci hai rotto papa. At 18, he starred in the TV series "Family Doctor" (1998). At 19 he got one of the leading roles in the youth comedies "Sweet as Honey" and "All Heaven in One Room" .
At the age of 20, Elio Germano worked on the same site with the famous Sergio Castellitto - in the biopic Padre Pio (2000). In his next film - "Unfair Competition" (2001) - he starred with Gerard Depardieu.
Germano attracted the most attention in 2005, playing in the thriller "Do you like Hitchcock?" Hitchcock fan student Julio, who unravels the detective story. After this work, Germano played in Abel Ferrara's film Maria with Juliette Binoche in the title role, in Luca Guadagnino's drama Melissa: An Intimate Diary with Maria Valverde and Crime Novel by Michele Placido. The breakthrough in his career came in 2007, when Daniele Luchetti starred him in the drama "My Brother is the Only Child in the Family." For this work, Germano was noted at the European Film Academy. In Italy, Elio Germano became a popular actor.
