Born February 8, 1962, Gelsenkirchen - German actor and theater director
Studied in Bochum at the Westphalian Theater School, under the guidance of Klaus Payman. He worked in theaters in Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, in a number of theaters in Berlin, including the Berliner Ensemble, the German Theater and the Schiller Theater, and took part in the Salzburg Festival. In 1996-1997 he was the artistic director of the Berliner Ensemble Theater. He worked with directors Robert Wilson, Heiner Muller, Ainar Schleef. Wutke's highest achievement is considered the main role in the play Arturo Ui's Career, staged by H. Muller in 1995, based on the play by B. Brecht; this role on the stage of the "Berliner Ensemble" Wutke plays to this day.
In 1999, at the invitation of Frank, Kastrofa moved to the Volksbuehne Theater. In 2002, Wuttke directed his first film director. Since 2009 he has been an actor at the Vienna Burgtheater.
In 1995 and 2003 the influential German magazine Teatr Segodnya named Martin Wuttke "Best Actor of the Year".
