Born June 5, 1964, San Antonio, USA - American writer.
At the age of 13, he wrote a story and even intended to publish it somewhere, but changed his mind. Also, from his school years, his passion for Greek and Scandinavian mythology began. While attending college, Riordan served for three years as an art director at the school's summer camp - and it was during this time that the idea of ??a half-blood camp came to his mind.
Riordan's first job is a schoolteacher in New Braunfels, Texas. Then he and his family moved to San Francisco for eight years, and then returned to their homeland, worked as a teacher in middle school for another six years - and decided that he would become a writer.
He wrote and published his first novel in 1997.
From the release of the first book about Percy Jackson to the present, each new work of the writer has consistently reached the top of the New York Times bestseller lists. The XX Century Fox Film Company acquired the rights to film The Lightning Thief, the film was released in 2010.
