Born November 26, 1972, Austell, Georgia, USA is an American writer, screenwriter and producer.

From childhood, James dreamed of writing. James's parents had an old typewriter, on which he first tried to write, but the hobby did not go further. After graduating from high school, James attended the University of Utah, where he earned a master's degree in accounting. Before committing to a career as a writer, he worked in finance, but in the end, a long-standing passion took over. Since 2003, James has regularly written fantasy books for children and teenagers. And his most popular novel, The Maze Runner, which opened the cycle of the same name, was written for an older audience (Young Adult).
