Born April 13, 1965 - American actress, producer, director, and screenwriter.
Graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts. She appeared on several television shows, in 1994 making her big screen debut in No Fools opposite Paul Newman. Shortly thereafter, she landed a role in the soap opera One Life to Live, after leaving which she began to appear regularly on television and in films.
Dent is best known for her role as Danielle Sofer on the television series The Shield, where she starred from 2002 to 2008, throughout the broadcast. She also had prominent roles in the films Majestic and 21 Grams, and the 2002 miniseries Kidnapped. On television, she has been a guest on numerous TV series such as Grey's Anatomy, Terminator: The Battle for the Future, NCIS Special, and The Mentalist.
