Winner of three Academy Awards and numerous other film awards. In one of the last works - the film “The Departed”, she applied the latest editing technologies, due to which the effect of documentary accuracy of what was happening was achieved (Oscar award).
Became a member of the British Film Institute, owing to her invaluable contribution to cinema. For her vital contribution to world cinema, in September 2014, Shunmaker was awarded the honorary Golden Lion of the Venice Film Festival.
