Ivan Attal - Franco-Israeli actor, director, screenwriter; was born on January 4, 1965 in Tel Aviv (Israel). Ivan Attal also practiced voice acting for Tom Cruise in French in several films with his participation.
His parents are from the Jewish community in Algeria. His father was a watchmaker and his mother was a housewife. His family left Algeria in 1962 after Algeria's independence and settled in Creteil in the Val-de-Marne near Paris.
As a child, he loved movies and TV shows, especially "The Godfather" by Francis Ford Coppola.
In 1985 at 19, he took an acting course at the Cours Florent in Paris.
He began his theater career in 1988 with Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues, following Eli Shurakui's Tell Me Love.
In 1989, he achieved his first film success, starting his acting career as a friend of Hippolyte Girardot in Un monde sans pitie, dir. Eric Roshan. His performance earned him the Michel Simon Prize in 1989 and the Cesar for Best Male Debut of 1990.
