Born September 24, 1946, Decatur, Indiana is an American film and television director.
Studied at Indiana University and the University of Southern California School of Motion Picture Arts before teaching at Colorado High School.
He made his film debut as an associative producer. From 1981 to 1983, he directed 10 episodes of the hit TV series Hill Street Blues, which earned him two prime-time Emmy awards. He also worked on the TV series St. Elsver and Miami Police.
Anspo's films The Indiana Team, Fresh Horses with Molly Ringwald, Rudy (about the life of American football player Rudy Ruttiger), Moonlight and Valentino, The Game of Their Lives were released on the big screen.
In the spring of 2015, Anspo taught directing at Indiana University in Bloomington.
