Born January 31, 1947, Washington, DC, USA - American actor and screenwriter.
Raised in the family of a CIA employee. He studied at Indiana University in Bloomington, where his fellow student was Kevin Kline. At that time, they were together staging the play "Threepenny Opera".
Banks dropped out of Indiana University to tour with the director's group. With the production team, he came to Australia and stayed to work in the theater. In 1974 he moved to Los Angeles, where he made a living looking for and performing bit parts on television.
A breakthrough in filming for him was his participation in the series "Clever Man".
