Born March 19, 1915 - American actress.
After graduating from high school, she attended the undergraduate arts league and then studied dance with famed dancer Martha Graham. In November 1933, Morison made her Broadway debut. Soon she was hired as a stunt double for Helen Hayes in a production of Victoria Regina, but Hayes never missed a show, and so Morison never appeared in that production. In one of the Broadway productions she was noticed by a talent scout from Paramount Pictures, and soon Patricia Morison signed a contract with this film studio. Starting from the very first motion picture, she got the main roles, but despite such a promising take-off, her subsequent work in the cinema was only in second-rate films. In 1942, the United States entered World War II, and Morison became one of the celebrities who participated in entertainment shows for the American military and its allies in Europe during these years. In November of the same year, she, along with Al Jolson, Merle Oberon and several other artists, went to the UK. During the war years, she only once appeared on the screens - in the film "Bernadette's Song" (1943), and the rest of the time she devoted to her performances on Broadway. In 1945, she returned to the big screen, starring in the rather successful films "Without Love" (1945), "Prelude to Murder" (1946), "Tarzan and the Huntress" (1947) and "Song of the Thin Man" (1947) .
In 1948, Morison left the cinema again to return to Broadway, where this time she was in triumph. American composer Col Porter invited the actress to his new musical "Kiss Me, Kat", which became the most successful work in her acting career. Over the next three years, Patricia performed in more than a hundred shows on Broadway, and then in another 400 performances of this musical in London. In 1954, Morison got a role in another Broadway hit - "The King and I", with which, after a run in New York, she went on a tour of the country. In subsequent years, work in the theater remained the main in the career of Patricia Morison.
During the 1960s and 1970s, she appeared on television several times, including two television versions of her Broadway hits. After that, she starred in films only once, in the films Endless Song (1960) and Vaughn Ton - The Dog Who Saved Hollywood (1976) .
Already an elderly woman and leaving her acting career in the past, Patricia Morison took up painting and several times arranged exhibitions of her work in Los Angeles.
