Born February 23, 1951 - American film and television actress.
Patricia Richardson began her Broadway career as a stunt double for Angela Lansbury in Gypsy: A Musical Fable, and eventually appeared in several more theatrical productions. She also starred in several films and TV series prior to her breakthrough in 1991 with a role in the sitcom Big Refurbishment, for which she received four Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations .
She starred in Uli's Gold for which she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1997. After completing the series in 1999, she starred in several films and guest-starred on the first season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and in 2002 she began acting in the TV series Strong Medicine, which she left in 2005.
From 2005 to 2006, she starred in the political series The West Wing. In recent years, the actress has mainly made rare television appearances, and also starred in independent films.
