Born January 28, 1930 in India - Vocalist of Indian Classical Music.
His family is known for singing in the style of Mewati Gharana.
Jasraj's father introduced him to music and vocals. He also studied with his older brother Maniram, later with Maharaja Vaghela. His brother Maniram took Jasraj to his place to accompany him on the tabla. After an unsuccessful performance, Jasraj left him to study singing.
Jasraj first sang in 1945, performing Kaunsi Kanada on AIR Radio. Jasraj gave a large number of concerts throughout India, he also performed with many Indian musicians.
Jasraj has a rich, touching, sonorous voice, a range of more than three and a half octaves. His tunes are in tune with Mewati Gharana's Khayal style with great skill.
