An American rock band formed in 1969 in Los Angeles, California, and performed eclectic blues rock with elements of country rock, southern rock, rhythm and blues, soul music. The high technical skill of the musicians (according to Allmusic) successfully fit into the general format of the classic rock of the 1970s, but the group created extremely unorthodox music and - thanks in large part to the original musical ideas of the leader Lowell George (formerly a member of Mothers of Invention) - acquired a cult status and respect of music critics. After the death of Lowell George in 1979, the group disbanded, and reunited in 1987, failed to restore its former authority - although, it toured every time with constant success. Eleven Little Feat albums have entered the Billboard 200.
