Born April 6, 1977 - American actor.
Studied at Landon School in Bethesda. In high school, he was the captain of the football team, making it to the top ten national list of participants in the 100-yard breaststroke distance. His great-great-grandfather won a gold medal in shooting at the 1912 Olympics, and his aunt won a bronze medal at the 1956 games for overcoming the 100-yard butterfly distance. Teddy played for the football team at the University of Maryland. After a while, he transferred to the University of Virginia, where, upon graduation, he received a degree in business management in 1999
Sears ended his business career when he came to New York after graduating from university. After the first auditions, the actor received a 2-year contract for his role in the TV series One Life to Live. Then, after guest appearances on Law & Order and the sitcom Whoopi, Teddy entered an acting training program for two years, co-mentored with William Esper. Through the program, Sears landed roles in the comedy shows Late Show with David Letterman and Late Show with Conan O'Brian .
In the period from 2005 to 2009, the actor appeared in guest roles in many popular TV series: Ugly, CSI: Miami Crime Scene, Mad Men, Las Vegas, Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, etc. In 2010 appeared in 28 episodes in the main cast of the TNT drama "Law Practice" and starred in the drama film "Client List" .
In 2011, he played in the first season of the American Horror Story series by Ryan Murphy, in 2012 he appeared as a detective in the mystical drama 666 Park Avenue. Currently starring in the TV series "Masters of Sex", playing a role in the main cast.
In 2015, Teddy was cast in the second season of the superhero series The Flash, in which he got the role of Jay Garrick - the very first Flash from DC comics, who, in the series' plot, is an alien from the parallel world of Earth-2. However, in the end, it turned out that in reality Sears is playing the role of the supervillain Hunter Solomon, nicknamed Zoom, who is the main antagonist of the season.
