Born November 28, 1976, Buenos Aires is an Argentinean screenwriter, director and producer.
Daughter of film director and screenwriter Luis Puenso. She received her degree in literature from the University of Buenos Aires and studied at the National Film Institute of Argentina. She has written many screenplays for film and TV, as well as directed several films, including documentaries and mini-series. Her film X, X, Ygrek (2007) has won more than 20 national and international awards - including the Grand Prix of the International Critics Week at the Cannes IFF and three other awards. Her second film, Child of the Fish, opened the Panorama section at the 2009 Berlinale. In 2010, Lucia Puenzo was voted Best Young Hispanic Writer by the prestigious English magazine Granta. Reviews of The Fish Child have been overwhelmingly positive. Le Monde called him "incredibly sweet and infinitely cruel", La Nacion spoke of "a strange mixture of rage, passion and sensitivity ”, and Der Spiegel described it as“ incredibly exciting ”.
