Born October 24, 1955, Santiago is a Chilean and Italian film director and screenwriter.
At the age of twenty, he was forced to leave Argentina for political reasons. Moved to Milan, from 1981 he studied at the Milan Film School. In the 1980s, he divided his life between Paris, Los Angeles and New York. He worked as a school teacher in Buenos Aires, a photographer and video artist in New York. He shot his first film in 1991. His film about the military dictatorship and repression of the junta in Argentina Garage "Olimpo" (1999) received international recognition and many awards.
