After graduating from high school, she entered the Augusta State University, where she received an athletic scholarship as a swimmer and runner, and also worked as a fashion model for some time.
Joel Carter has appeared in several dozen TV shows and films since the mid-nineties. Carter is best known for her role on the FX series Justice with Timothy Olyphant, in which she starred from 2010 to 2015. The role earned her a TV Critics' Choice Award nomination in 2015.
