Born October 14, 1965, Manchester, England, UK - British actor, comedian, film producer, and screenwriter.

Received acting training at the Theater School of Manchester Polytechnic Institute.

After graduating from drama school, he began his acting career as a pop comedian, worked in comedy programs on radio and television. For a long time he worked in "Spitting Image" ("exact copy") - a puppet television series, where famous politicians and cultural figures were caricatured.

In 1992 he won the Perrier Prize for his Steve Coogan and John Thompson program. The series "I - Alan Partridge" ("I'm Alan Partridge", 1997-2002) brought him special popularity.

Coogan's numerous small-screen roles have earned him wide acclaim and a number of prestigious awards, including the British Academy of Film and Television.

Coogan's first work in "big" cinema was the film "Resurrected" (1989). A few years later followed the films "Indian in the Cupboard" ("Indian in the Cupboard", 1995) and "The Wind in the Willows" ("The Wind in the Willows", a year in the cinema | 1996).
