Born May 22, 1980, Tehran, Iran - British-Iranian actress.
During the Iranian Revolution, her parents emigrated to London, where Nazanin began to study at a private school. At the request of her parents, Nazanin entered the Faculty of Biology at the University of California at Irvine and in 2003 received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She was a Scientologist for a while and had a short-term affair with Tom Cruise; now calls herself a “non-practicing Muslim” .
Nazanin's first significant role is that of Leila Mir in ABC's daytime soap opera General Hospital. Then there were roles in the films "Charlie Wilson's War", "Iron Man", "Three Days to Escape". In February 2011, she appeared in How I Met Your Mother as Nora, Barney Stinson's girlfriend. In 2013, she appeared in the third season of the series "Homeland" in the role of CIA employee Farah Sherazi.
In February 2014, it was announced that Bonyadi had landed a key supporting role in the second half of the third season of Shonda Rhimes' series Scandal.
