July 14, 1926 - September 15, 2017 - American film actor and singer.
Member of the Second World War. Studied at the University of Kentucky and Pasadena Playhouse. Started acting in films in the 1950s, playing cameo roles. In 1983 he starred in the film Paris, Texas, directed by Wim Wenders. Stanton played in films directed by Sam Peckinpah, John Milius, David Lynch, Monte Hellman, Francis Ford Coppola.
According to agent Stanton, the actor died of natural causes in a Los Angeles hospital.
