Born November 30, 1963, Merseyside, England, UK - British film and television director.
Was inspired by a movie career after watching Steven Spielberg's Jaws. He tried to understand the production and elements of cinematography. With friends, he started making short films at the age of 14 using a camera that his mother gave him. As an adult, he shot mainly films for television, collaborated with the BBC. He shot 19 films in total, the first of which was in 1984. He was educated at the college of his hometown, and then at the Universities of Essex and Georgetown.
In November 2011, David Yates announced his intention to direct a full-length film Doctor Who based on the series of the same name.
However, his intentions did not materialize. Stephen Moffat said that at least for the near future, abandoning the idea of ??a full-length film is final and irrevocable. Earlier in one of his interviews, Stephen reassured fans, saying that if the film was shot, it would at least not be done by Yeats.
