Everyone associates Australian rock music, first of all, with the group AC / DC, but the number two (even if it does not sound offensive to her fans) is the group INXS. Formed back in 1977 in the largest city of the Green continent, Sydney, the group was originally called the Farriss Brothers (after the names of the three founders) and played funk rock. But already before the release of the first album in 1980, the Ferris brothers changed their name to INXS (abbreviated from In Excess - over, over).

The first two albums did not impress the public, but the third, called Shabooh Shoobah, entered the top five best albums in Australia. Well, the fourth and fifth - The Swing and Listen Like Thieves - brought fame to the group far beyond the borders of their homeland. So fame came to the team. The following albums Kick and X did not lag behind the previous ones, and the single Need You Tonight was the leader of the world charts for a long time.

In the early nineties, the group's popularity declined, but the name of its vocalist Michael Hutchence did not leave the pages of the tabloids. True, not as a musician, but as a gossip star. His romantic twists and turns with Helena Christensen and Kylie Minogue did not leave the news of high life. But he did not forget about his "main job" either. Albums Welcome to Wherever You Are and Full Moon, Dirty Hearts, released in 1992 and 1993, respectively, had some success, primarily because they differed in style from everything that had been done before. Well, and the creative report of the work done was the release of The Greatest Hits collection in 1994, after which the musicians took a three-year hiatus, and in 1997 they released their last album, Elegantly Wasted, which did not become popular with the audience. Only a few hits were remembered and today they sometimes sound on the radio. However, a tour in support of the album took place. But he was accompanied by Hutchence's depression, which only worsened over time. The last concert took place on September 27, 1997. After that, the group planned to continue touring America, but, alas, it did not work out. On November 22, Michael Hutchence committed suicide. After the funeral, the group ceased to exist, because Michael has been a symbol for as long as INXS has existed.
after all, Michael has been a symbol for as many years as INXS has existed.

Attempts to reincarnate the group were made a year later, more than one performer acted as vocalist, and soon a competition for the vacant position was announced. JD Fortune and Kiaran Gribbin worked on it, but they did not return to popularity, and even more so they did not replace Hutchence. And in November 2012, before a concert in Perth, Australia, John Farris announced the disbandment of the group.

In 2014, a two-episode film with INXS was released on TV, telling about the behind-the-scenes life of popular musicians. But we won't see real INXS-sheep there. All the roles were played by actors, while the musicians acted as consultants.
