Born February 26, 1986 in Adelaide, Australia. The only daughter of investor Kevin Palmer and former nurse Paula Sanders. Her stepmother Kaaren Palmer, as well as two foster brothers and two foster sisters, lived with her father. Palmer stated in Interview magazine that she grew up in a fairly humble environment, living with her mother in a public housing stock or spending time with her father on a farm in the Adelaide Hills. Her parents divorced when she was three years old. Palmer was brought up strictly due to her mother's manic depressive disorder, she admitted in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
