Dale Midkiff was born in Chance, Maryland, USA; attended school near Baltimore. His first role was as Jack in a production of Jack and the Bean Tree for the local children's theater. Later played in Maurice Maeterlinck's Unbidden and Allen Boretz's Service. After graduating from school in 1977, Dale left it with an award for his theatrical activities. Midkiff entered the University of Salisbury and after graduation went to New York, where he changed many temporary jobs.
At the same time, Midkiff played in off-Broadway plays such as Mark Madoff's Bet. The actor got his first film role in Joan Freeman's film The Ancient Profession, where he played the role of a pimp named Duke. His acting has been rated “astounding courage” and is considered a B-class classic. Although Dale's family does not understand his passion for acting, he is grateful for the fact that “they let the child believe in their dream.”
His breakthrough came with the role of Jock Ewing in Dallas: The Early Years. The four-part film with Dale Midkiff, Elvis and Me, and the Dream Street miniseries are considered to be his main works.
