Born May 6, 1947, Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand - New Zealand actor.
Dale was a gentle child, he constantly succumbed to bullying from others and so learned to defend himself and stand up for himself. Growing up in New Zealand without television until 1960, Dale became very fond of theater and amateur performances. His first performance was at a school concert at the age of 13. The boy made a big impression on the actor Shelley Berman. Alan's parents built their own amateur theater in Auckland called The Little Dolphin Theater. Alan also played rugby under 21, but left the sport to pursue an acting career. In New Zealand, roles were limited, or rather, they did not shoot many films, so Alan Dale had to work in several jobs: including a model, a car salesman and a realtor. While working as a milkman, he heard the work of a DJ on the local radio and came to the studio said, what would have done better. They gave him a try and then signed him to an afternoon broadcasting contract. He played his first on-screen role in the television drama "Radio Waves," although it was unsuccessful, Alan Dale described it as "nine months of solid work and great pleasure." He starred in the series for eight years, but according to history, his character died and Dale left the project. Dale called his work on this series "interesting." After Neighbors, his only regular source of income was his voiceover. However, in 1999 he played in the television movie "First Daughter". After opening, he could speak with a convincing American accent and attended the film's premiere. In January 2000, he finally moves with his family to the United States. Dale, his second wife, Tracy, and their two-year-old son, Nick, live in a hideously small apartment in Los Angeles. At the age of 52, his career was bustling and he began taking acting lessons. He played his first role in the United States in a series called Signs of Life. Dale only got a couple of auditions during his first year in America, but his breakthrough came when he played South African Al Patterson in four episodes of the TV series Ambulance. Since then, Dale has been "busier than ever." He has starred in many TV series such as: Military Legal Service, West Wing, The X-Files, NCIS Special Department, Torchwood, and Practice. From 2003 to 2004, Dale played US Vice President Jim Prescott in the detective series 24. From 2006 to 2010, he played the brutal businessman Charles Widmore in the famous television series Lost,
