Was born on September 12, 1938 in Baku.
Graduated from the Taganrog Radiotechnical Institute (1960), the film faculty of the I.K.Karpenko-Kary KSITI (1971, workshop of A. Voytetsky). He worked as an engineer at factories in Riga and Minsk. Since 1964 - sound engineer at the Riga Film Studio.
He worked as a director and screenwriter in the creative association "Screen" (1971-1974), at film studios: them. Gorky (1974-1976), "Lenfilm" (1976-1978), "Mosfilm" (1980-1982), in the VPTO "Videofilm" (1986-1991).
From 1992 to the present - the head of the NOUK "Studio TSh" (Moscow). Member of the Guild of Russian Filmmakers (1988).
Member of the Union of Artists of Russia, section of graphic artists and photo artists (1990).
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2005).
