In 2012, Kuvenzhaney made her debut in Ben Zeitlin's independent drama Beasts of the Wild South: she played six-year-old Hashpappi. Wallis outperformed 4,000 other applicants in the auditions, and she lied about her age: for the film, actresses were considered, whose age was at least six years old, while Kuwenjani was only five.
