Hal B. Wallis - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Producer.
September 14, 1898 - October 5, 1986 - American film producer.
In 1922, his family moved to Los Angeles, California, where he found a modest job in the advertising department of the Warner Bros. Film Company. He quickly studied and moved up the career ladder and after a few years led the production of films at the studio. In 1931 he ceded this position to Darryl Zanuck for two years. Over a long career as a film producer (over fifty years), he has been involved in the production of more than 400 full-length Hollywood films, including the famous series of adventure films starring Errol Flynn. In 1944 he left the studio to become one of the most successful independent players in the studio system. In the 1950s, Hal Wallis was actively involved in promoting the image of Elvis Presley in Hollywood. He has produced several films with the King of Rock and Roll, such as Loving You (1957), King Creole (1958), Soldier's Blues (1960), Blue Hawaii (1961) year), “Girls! Girls! Girls! " (1961), "Fun in Acapulco" (1963). From an artistic point of view, these tapes were a "glossy dummy", but commercially, very profitable projects. And the financial success of these films allowed Wallis to invest in other films. Wallis was married twice: to actress Louise Fazenda (from 1927 to 1962) and to actress Martha Hayer (from 1966 until his death in 1986).
