His father was Bertil Sandgren, who worked as a film producer. In cinema, Linus began working in 1996, first acting as an assistant cameraman. Since 2000, he has been working as the main operator on short films, television films and serials. His feature film debut was the Swedish film The Storm, for which he received the Golden Beetle Award for Best Cinematography.
