Lanie Kazan is an American actress who became famous for her work in the film Companion and the TV series American Family, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives.
Lanie Levin was born on May 15, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York, to a Russian Jew, a bookmaker and a Turkish Jewess. Laney graduated from Hofstra University and also studied drama at Herbert Berghof's studio in Greenwich Village.
Kazan made her Broadway debut in 1961 in The Happiest Girl on Earth, and in some scenes replaced Barbra Streisand in the play Funny Girl.
Her first notable film work in 1968 was her role in the crime drama Girl in Cement.
