Barbra Streisand was born in a tricky New York area, Brooklyn, on April 24, 1942. The girl was named Barbara, however, in adulthood she changed her name to Barbra. Barbara's father was a teacher, he died early, and relations with her stepfather did not work out. The girl sang in the choir, studied music, dreamed of an acting and musical career.
Having won one of the music competitions in her youth, Streisand decided to become a singer and went to work in a nightclub. Two years later, the film Yentl comes out, in which Streisand participates not only as an actress, but also as a screenwriter, director and producer. The film received positive reviews and nominations for prestigious awards. In 1996, in the film Two Faces in the Mirror, Barbra again acts as an actress, director and producer.
In 2004 Streisand stars in one of the highest-grossing comedy films, Meet the Fockers. Later roles Barbra Streisand played in the films Meet the Fockers 2 and The Curse of My Mother.
