When the track 'The Gift' first appeared on Top of The Pops in 1997, it immediately became clear that Way Out West was much more than a simple dance project. The fact is that the only member of the project Nick Warren (a former forester whose brother drew comedy comics for TV companies) is a high-quality DJ, whose career took place in co-creation with the Massive Attack group and performances in the Cream superclub. Thanks to the dark, even creepy, vocals of the British diva Joanna Law, and the florid and fluttering melody, 'The Gift' became a stylish, emotionally shameless house theme that introduced not only avid clubbers into the club trance, but also people who had never been on the dance floor. ... The result of this success is the appearance on the shelves of the album of the same name, in which you can hear an enchanting mixture of broken beats and powerful melodic house. And this CD became as attractive in sound as the single itself, for a fairly wide range of listeners.
Three years later, Way Out West is a collaboration between Nick Warrena and the great musical genius Jody Wisternoff, resulting in a second album called 'Intensify'. After listening once, it immediately becomes clear - this is 'cool as botulism', and this album was promised prospects, comparable only to such electronic projects as Moby or Chemical Brothers.
