Born February 2, 1939 - American writer, screenwriter, and film director.
His most famous works are the screenplay for George Romero's film "Night of the Living Dead" (1968), as well as the novel of the same name. In the film, he personally takes part as an extra in one of the scenes.
Russo also wrote the script for "The Return of the Living Dead", but it remained unrealized - the famous film of the same name in 1985 was shot based on a script by Dan O'Bannon, Russo is credited only as the author of the plot.
