Ukrainian Soviet opera artist (dramatic baritone). People's Artist of the USSR (1950). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. Born on February 14 (27), 1901 in Mariupol (now Donetsk region) In 1926 he graduated from the Odessa School of Music. He performed for the first time on the opera stage in Odessa in 1924. In 1924-1927 he was a soloist of the Odessa Opera Theater, in 1927-1936 - the Kharkov Opera Theater; from 1936 - soloist of the Shevchenko Opera and Ballet Theater, in 1934-1935 and 1941-1944 - Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Theater. He died on June 3, 1973 in Kiev. Buried at the Baikovo cemetery.
