Gaitana is a famous Ukrainian singer, born in 1979, on March 24. In her work, she was able to combine genres such as soul, blues, jazz, funk and folk. The artist writes most of her songs herself. In 2012, she represented Ukraine at Eurovision.
Until her five years old, the girl lived in the Republic of Congo, in the homeland of her father, so she began to speak a mixture of French and Lingala. Later, she and her mother returned to Ukraine, where they were able to master both Ukrainian and Russian.
Gaitana has a brother, Denjandre, who lives with his father in Brazzaville. In Kiev, Gaitana graduated from a school, a music school, where she studied the saxophone, and received an economic education. Since childhood, she was fond of table tennis, in this sport she achieved the title of candidate for master.
The singer's career began in 1991, when she took part in the Nadiya Fant-lotto competition, where she won third place. The girl is invited to the Altana ensemble, with which Gaitana voiced cartoons, sang backing vocals with such famous Ukrainian singers as Irina Bilyk, Anni Lorak, Taisiya Povaliy, as well as no less famous singers Alexander Malinin and Nikolai Karachentsov. Gaitana could also be watched with the Overtime Orchestra and the Unity jazz group.
The singer's debut solo album was released in 2003. It was named About You, and the songs included in it were mainly in Russian. Only one composition was in Ukrainian - Dity Svitla. The most popular song from this album was the song London, Rains.
You can watch Gaitana online in the game show Natural Selection, where the girl was able to win, as well as in the People's Star show. At Eurovision in 2012, she took 15th place. Gaitana is married to her producer Eduard Klim.
