Honored Artist of Ukraine, composer, singer, poet and arranger.
Born on January 23, 1965 in the city of Kremenets, Ternopil region (Ukraine). Music education began at the Kremenets Music School, in the class of piano and saxophone. Further - the music school in Rivne. And during the years of service in the army, passing at the Baikonur cosmodrome, he participated in the musical song and dance ensemble "Baikonur Cosmodrome".
After graduating from the Odessa Conservatory, in 1990 he was invited by the People's Artist of Ukraine Nazariy Yaremchuk to the then famous ensemble "Smerichka". This is how Oleg Shak's musical career began as a vocalist, keyboardist and music director. 1998 - 2005: work as a musical director and arranger at the Pavel Zibrov Song Theater. At this time, there is active cooperation with many famous Ukrainian performers: K. Buzhinskaya, T. Piskareva, N. Buchinskaya, L. Sandulesa, V. Pavlik, P. Cherny and many others. Today, the work of Oleg Shak is wide and varied. This is music and arrangement for many famous performers, musicals, feature films and documentaries, TV series, both domestic and foreign production: "Cactus and Elena", "Women's Tears", "The Seventh Petal", "Surprise", title songs for the TV series "You Can't Order Your Heart", "Native People", arrangement for the Broadway musical "Equator" .
And recently, the artist's solo career has been actively and successfully developing. In 2006, the first solo album "Uninvited Guest" was released, which was a great success in Ukraine and Russia. The second, the album entitled "On the Clouds" was released at the end of 2008 and distinguished itself with new motives, penetration of sincere lyrics. The album includes 22 tracks, including songs from the series "Native People" and "You Can't Order Your Heart", as well as the soundtrack to the feature film "Cactus and Elena". Each of his songs is a story of life, a story of friendship, love.
The name of Oleg Shak is known in Europe and America, his songs are popular with a large diaspora abroad. One of the performances of Pope Benedict XVI before German youth in Germany was accompanied by music by the Kiev composer Oleg Shak.
On December 12, 2008, in the October Palace in Kiev, a solo concert of O. Shak took place in support of the new album of the same name "Across the Clouds". The leading Russian singer Valeria, the talented young film actress Olga Budina, the finalists and prize-winners of the New Wave 2007 music competition in Jurmala, the Barcelona duet and many others came to congratulate and sing the artist's songs.
