Dmitry Igorevich Shurov, aka Pianoboy, was born in the fall of 1981 in Vinnitsa, a small town in central Ukraine. The talented pianist, musician and composer was born into a creative and gifted family: his father was an artist and poet, and his mother wrote music and taught. Pianoboy spent 10 years abroad, his childhood and adolescence passed, for the most part, in Europe, where he ideally mastered both French and English. The young man received his education in France, at the Lyceum named after Auguste Renoir, and after graduation he went to America, where he played in a jazz band for several years. Having enjoyed American life to his fullest, Shurov returned to his homeland and entered the Linguistic Institute in Kiev.
In 2000, Dmitry Shurov became the keyboard player of the cult Ukrainian group Okean Elzy, which was then at the peak of fame and popularity. However, after 4 years, he collects his own band called Esthetic Education, in which he released 3 albums and played many concerts. In 2006, Shurov reached a new level - Zemfira herself, the legend of Russian rock music, invited him to become the pianist of her group. The tandem of the Russian singer, her musicians and the Ukrainian pianist turned out to be very successful - they jointly recorded the album "Thank you", played more than 100 concerts and even shot a musical documentary with Pianoboy ? Green Theater in Zemfira.
From 2009 to the present, Pianoboy has been engaged in his eponymous solo project, in which, in addition to him, his sister Olga Shurova, as well as drummer Alexander Polyakov and bass player Nikolai Kistinev, play. Dmitry Shurov writes music not only for his project, but also for films; viewers could see many films with Pianoboy as a composer - for example, Hottabych, Orange Love, The Mysterious Island and others.
The musician is married to Olga Shurova (Tarakanovskaya), with whom they raise their son Lev, who inherited a talent for music from his amazingly gifted father.
